Guys, let me tell you, getting this vlog out has been the hardest thing I have ever done. That may sound silly, and if I’m honest I think it’s silly myself. It’s just a video, right? Ah but, I forgot about my perfectionist streak.
Doing this vlog reminded me of my high school years, playing around with the camcorders and editing videos after class. I didn’t like it then, and I don’t like it now. However, I have a much clearer idea of what I want to create, how I’m going to create it, and set low expectations for what’s going to happen after it is done. Yeah, my filters look a little strange in some clips. Okay, the captions aren’t the greatest.
It doesn’t matter.
What matters is that it exists, that it’s out into the world and finished. Do I love it? Nope. But that doesn’t matter either.
I’ve learned a lot this summer. I’ve been working on this vlog since August, like the title says. I’ve had weeks to think about what to film, to find what kind of shots I like and what I like to see when I go back to edit. In a way, it was relaxing. Almost peaceful.
In my vlog, I want to bring some peace to all of you; I experienced this calm focus getting the shots I did and putting them together. This vlog is the mood of my summer, and I hope it comes off as relaxing, slow and non-stressful. That’s how I felt when I was recording. I hope to bring that to every video I put out (I’m already working on a proper autumn vlog for October/November).
I hope you enjoy the vlog, and I will see you all again in my next one!
FYI, I literally chased that butterfly through the sunflower fields for a good half hour and was covered in pollen when I was done. I have rather bad allergies, so I was sick for a good week after that, but it was worth it. For a moment I was a carefree child again, running through rows of gold and emeralds chasing a sparkle of amber into the bright sky. It was fun.
please enjoy the vlog
